Despite a global climate marked by uncertainty, Occitanie continues to demonstrate steady appeal for foreign investors.
In 2025, the region recorded 140 investment decisions, supporting or creating 3,230 jobs, a 19% increase on the previous year.
Industry and business services underpin growth
Investment remains driven by the region’s industrial base, with production activities accounting for over 42% of projected jobs. Business services follow, representing 21% of new employment.
Almost two‑thirds of projects involve the creation of new sites, while expansion projects, fewer in number, continue to generate a substantial number of jobs.
A further trend is the rise of projects not immediately linked to job creation, particularly those focused on digitalising production tools or advancing industrial decarbonisation, such as the initiative led by ArcelorMittal in Lozère.
European investors lead the way
Germany stands as the region’s leading investor in 2025, followed by the United Kingdom, which projects account for a particularly significant share of employment. The United States, Switzerland and Ireland also feature prominently, reflecting the diversity of international interest.
Strategic sectors driving performance
Occitanie’s core strengths continue to underpin growth. The aerospace and transport industries anchored by major players such as Airbus, represents nearly one‑third of all jobs generated. Software and IT services also remain strong contributors, with companies including Septeo and Accenture adding to this momentum.
